Fermín (Embutidos Fermín)
La Alberca, Salamanca)
A traditional Spanish family-owned producer of Iberian hams and cured meats, founded in 1956 in the mountain village of La Alberca (Salamanca), located within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The company was the first to receive authorization to export Iberian pork products to the United States. It specializes in 100% Ibérico de Bellota ham, made from purebred Iberian pigs raised free-range in the unique dehesa ecosystem. During the montanera season, the finest pigs feed naturally on acorns, giving the meat its distinctive nutty flavor, delicate marbling, and exceptional tenderness. The hams are then naturally aged in the mountain climate for more than 36 months. Part of the range is certified 100% organic (BIO), with pigs raised on ecological pastures without antibiotics or growth hormones. All products are naturally gluten-free and lactose-free.
